The EFD-TIP team is conducting field tests to document the environmental impact associated with the installation of completion strings, including advancements in connection technologies. One of the promising technologies is the use of dope-free connections. Traditional dope creates potentially hazardous waste and requires the removal of storage compounds prior to installation. The field tests will document cost savings as well as environmental savings associated with this practice.
