Remote Sensing of Ecosystem Biodiversity

The overall objective of the project was to document ecosystem management tools and metrics that may be used in coastal, offshore and Arctic regions and then determine which tool(s) could be most applicable. The goal was to determine how the various Arctic marine ecosystem services can be observed, measured, modeled and assessed over time. The project also established a network of researchers that can collaborate to advance the knowledge of ecosystem measurement tools and the understanding of risk management issues. The project explored how to use the ecosystem management tools and metrics to assess the value of the natural capital of the Arctic.
