Environmentally Friendly Drilling Scorecard

The EFD Scorecard was developed to determine the tradeoffs associated with implementing low impact drilling technology in environmentally sensitive areas. The Scorecard is a quantitative method to assess drilling technology and operations with respect to air, site, water, waste management, biodiversity, and societal issues. As such, the Scorecard provides an adaptive ecosystem management tool that can assist operating companies in planning and implementing practices to manage operational risks. Landowners, regulators, and the general public can use the scorecard to objectively assess the operator’s performance, which should promote the reduction of environmental impacts.
